The city gate on the east side of Genoa is called Porta Soprana. Visitors can climb the ancient staircase to the top of the two towers and enjoy a breathtaking view over the city of Genoa.  The house where Christopher Columbus was born is located just east of the gates. 

Piazza de Ferrari, Geneva's main square, is just a short walk north of the Porta Soprana Gates along Via Dante.
